A: Check Active Air Flap System

The active air flap may not operate normally if an external object temporarily holds it open or if the controller is affected by snow, rain or other contamination.

If a warning message appears, stop the Kia Sportage in a safe place and check the condition of the flap.

Remove any foreign material, then wait 10 minutes before restarting the vehicle. If the warning message remains, have the system inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.

CAUTION

NOTE

The active air flap system may operate in different vehicle states, including while parked, driving or charging.

Economical operation

Fuel economy in your Kia Sportage depends largely on how, where and when you drive. Each of these factors affects how far the vehicle can travel on a litre or gallon of fuel.

To use fuel efficiently and help reduce running and repair costs, follow these practical driving and maintenance recommendations:

WARNING

Never switch off the engine to coast downhill or while the Kia Sportage is moving. Power steering and power-assisted braking may not operate correctly with the engine off, and steering may require considerably more effort. Keep the engine running and select an appropriate lower gear to use engine braking.
