Kia Sportage: Personalized Profile and Vehicle SettingsA smartphone digital key registered to the Kia Sportage can be linked to a user profile. Digital keys associated with the same smartphone account are treated as part of one [Group], and the keys in that group are linked to the profile. When you enter the vehicle using a registered Digital Key 2 smartphone, the Kia Sportage automatically applies the linked profile. You can view the shared keys in the following infotainment system menu; My Smartphone Key is listed separately.
TIP
The infotainment system menus may change after a software update. For current instructions, refer to the manual available in the infotainment system and the quick reference guide.
On the infotainment system, select Setup > Vehicle > Digital Keys > Smartphone Key > Shared Keys > [Group].
Linking or Unlinking a Profile
Link a User Profile
In the infotainment system settings, select Setup > User Profile > Profile Setting > Link Digital Key (Smartphone).
Select Link and follow the on-screen instructions to associate the digital key for the registered phone number with the user profile.
When linking is complete, the infotainment system displays “Digital Key Link Complete.”
Press Link, choose the Digital Key 2 smartphone you want to associate from the keys shown on the screen, and follow the instructions.
When the process is complete, the infotainment system displays “Digital Key Link Complete.”
Unlink a User Profile
In the infotainment system, select Setup > User Profile > Profile Setting > Link Digital Key (Smartphone), then unlink the digital key in the User Profile settings. Unlinking is available only when a profile is linked.
When unlinking is complete, the infotainment system displays “Digital Key is unlinked.”
TIP
A smartphone digital key cannot be linked to both Driver 1 and Driver 2 profiles at the same time. If you link it to another profile, the previous link is cancelled and personalization follows the most recently linked profile.
You can link a user profile only when the digital key is registered both on the smartphone and in the vehicle. A smartphone digital key registered to another vehicle cannot be linked.
An NFC card key cannot be linked to a personalized profile.
If you delete a smartphone digital key that is linked to a user profile, you must register Digital Key 2 again and link the profile again to restore personalization.
The infotainment system menus may change after a software update. For current instructions, refer to the manual available in the infotainment system and the quick reference guide.
How Vehicle Personalization Works
Personalization linked to Digital Key 2 operates under the following conditions:
Touch the driver’s door handle with the smartphone linked to the profile to lock or unlock the doors. Personalization does not operate when you lock or unlock the vehicle using the front passenger door handle.
The digital key must be linked to the profile through the infotainment system’s profile menu before personalization can operate.
Personalization works while the vehicle is off or after it has been started remotely. It does not operate through the digital key if the vehicle has not been started remotely.
