Kia Sportage: Changing a Tyre with TPMSIf a tyre goes flat, the low tyre pressure warning light and the tyre position indicator illuminate. Have the TPMS checked by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
CAUTION
Use sealant approved by Kia. When a tyre is replaced, any sealant on the tyre pressure sensor or wheel must be removed.
Each wheel has a tyre pressure sensor fitted inside the tyre, behind the valve stem. Replacement wheels must be designed for use with TPMS. Have tyre work carried out by a qualified workshop; Kia recommends an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
If you drive the Kia Sportage for approximately 10 minutes at speeds above 25 km/h after fitting the spare wheel in place of a low-pressure tyre, one of the following may occur:
A low-pressure tyre may not look flat. Always measure its inflation pressure with a good-quality tyre pressure gauge. A tyre that has warmed up during driving will show a higher pressure than a cold tyre. For this purpose, a tyre is considered cold if the vehicle has been stationary for at least three hours and has been driven less than 1 mile (1.6 km) during that period.
Let the tyre cool before checking its pressure. Always make sure it is cold before inflating it to the recommended pressure.

Protecting the TPMS
Tampering with, modifying, or disabling TPMS components may prevent the system from warning you about low tyre pressure or a TPMS malfunction. Such changes may also void the warranty covering the affected part of the vehicle.

For Europe
CAUTION
If your Kia Sportage is equipped with TPMS, use sealant approved by Kia. Liquid sealant may damage the tyre pressure sensors.
