Kia Sportage: Paddle shifters: (if equipped)
|
Operation
Pull the [+] or [−] paddle once to shift up or down by one gear. This switches the Kia Sportage from automatic to manual shift mode. The paddle shifters do not operate at low vehicle speeds.
To return from manual shift mode to automatic, use either of these methods:
Pull and hold the [+] paddle for more than one second.
With a shift lever, move it from D (Drive) into the manual gate and then back to D. With a shift dial SBW system, turn the dial to D.
The system also returns to automatic shift mode under either of these conditions:
While driving, gently press the accelerator pedal for more than six seconds. Manual mode remains active when SPORT is selected as the drive mode.
The vehicle comes to a stop.
On models with a dual clutch transmission, if you release the accelerator and pull and hold the [−] paddle for more than 0.5 seconds, the transmission downshifts to the lowest gear currently allowed. Holding the [−] paddle for the same period while pressing the brake pedal may trigger an additional downshift.
NOTE
If you pull both paddle shifters at the same time, the transmission will not change gear.

when shifting the gear to the R (Reverse) position, this may indicate a malfunction
