Kia Sportage: Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system: (if equipped)The Kia Sportage may be equipped with an Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system. To help reduce fuel consumption, ISG automatically switches the engine off when the vehicle is stationary under suitable conditions, then restarts it when the required starting conditions are met.
The engine restarts automatically as soon as the conditions for starting are satisfied.
NOTE
When ISG automatically restarts the engine, some warning lights, including ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS or the parking brake warning light, may illuminate briefly for a few seconds. This can happen because of low battery voltage and does not, by itself, indicate a system malfunction.
Activating ISG
ISG is switched on whenever you turn on the ignition.
Deactivating ISG
|
To switch ISG off, press the ISG OFF button. The indicator on the button will illuminate to show that the system is deactivated. Press the button again to reactivate ISG; the indicator will then turn off.
If the Engine Does Not Start
TIP
If the engine will not start, first check the fuel level and whether the battery may be discharged.
If the Engine Does Not Turn Over or Turns Over Slowly
