Kia Sportage: Securing a Child Restraint System with a lap/shoulder beltIf you are not using the ISOFIX system, secure the CRS to a rear seat using the lap section of a lap-and-shoulder belt, following the restraint manufacturer's instructions.
|
Operation
Position the CRS on a rear seat and route the lap-and-shoulder belt around or through it as instructed by the CRS manufacturer.
Insert the belt latch plate into the buckle and make sure it is fastened.
Remove as much slack as possible. Press down on the CRS while feeding the shoulder belt back into the retractor.
Push and pull the CRS to check that the seat belt holds it firmly in place.
If the CRS manufacturer specifies using a top-tether with the lap-and-shoulder belt, follow the instructions in “Securing a Child Restraint System seat with the ‘Top-tether Anchorage’ system” in this chapter.
To remove the CRS, press the buckle release button and withdraw the lap-and-shoulder belt from the restraint. Allow the belt to retract fully.
