Kia Sportage: Smart Cruise Control malfunction![]() |
A: Check Driver Assistance system |
If Smart Cruise Control (SCC) detects a fault, a warning message appears on the Kia Sportage instrument cluster and
clears after a certain period. The Master Warning Light (
) also illuminates.
Have SCC inspected by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
Smart Cruise Control disabled

A: Driver Assistance system limited. Radar blocked. |
Snow, rain or other foreign material covering the front radar cover or sensor can interfere with detection and temporarily limit or disable SCC.
While the system is limited, warning messages appear on the instrument cluster and the Master Warning Light (
) illuminates. The messages
clear after a certain period. This condition does not necessarily indicate a fault in Smart Cruise Control.
Remove snow, rain or other material from the affected area. The Kia Sportage’s SCC should operate normally once the radar’s view is clear.
WARNING
Smart Cruise Control may not operate correctly even if no warning message appears on the instrument cluster.
CAUTION
SCC may not work correctly if there is nothing for the system to detect, such as in open terrain, or if a detecting sensor is covered by foreign material after the vehicle is switched on.
