Operating conditions
Use devices rated below 15 A while the vehicle is in ON.
WARNING
Use the outlet only while the vehicle is on, and unplug accessories after use. Leaving a device connected for an extended period while the vehicle is off may discharge the battery.
Connect only 12 V electrical accessories with a current draw below 15 A.
When using the outlet, set the air conditioner or heater to its lowest operating level.
Close the outlet cover when it is not in use.
Some electronic devices may cause interference when connected to the vehicle’s power outlet. This can result in audio static or affect other electronic systems and devices in the vehicle.
Insert the accessory plug fully into the outlet. Poor contact may cause the plug to overheat or the fuse to blow.
Use battery-powered electronic devices with reverse-current protection. Current flowing from a device battery into the vehicle’s electrical or electronic system may cause a malfunction.
Electric shock
Never insert a finger or foreign object, such as a pen, into the outlet. Do not touch it with wet hands, as this may cause electric shock.
