Kia Sportage instrument cluster message indicating that Blind-Spot Safety is switched off

A: Blind-Spot Safety system is off

When BCA is switched on, or when the vehicle is restarted with the function enabled, the warning light in the outside rearview mirror illuminates for approximately three seconds.

If the Kia Sportage is restarted while BCA is switched off, a warning message appears on the instrument cluster.

WARNING

If Blind-Spot Safety is switched off, stay alert to surrounding traffic and drive with care. The driver remains responsible for checking the blind spots and making safe manoeuvres.

CAUTION

When a trailer connector is plugged into the vehicle, Lane Keeping Assist automatically switches off if a genuine Kia Trailer Kit capable of detecting a connected trailer is used. Lane Keeping Assist will not provide assistance while it is inactive, so take extra care when driving.

NOTE

When the vehicle is restarted, BCA retains its most recent setting.
