Lane Departure Warning
If the vehicle moves out of its lane without the turn signal being used, the system can alert the driver with a green indicator on the instrument cluster, a flashing indicator on the side of departure and an audible warning.
Lane Departure Warning operates when lane markings or a road edge are detected and the Kia Sportage is travelling at approximately 60–200 km/h (40–120 mph).
Lane Keeping Assist
When steering assistance is active, the green indicator
flashes on
the instrument cluster, and the system makes steering adjustments to help keep the vehicle within its lane.
Lane Keeping Assist operates when lane markings or a road edge are detected and the Kia Sportage is travelling at approximately 60–200 km/h (40–120 mph).
Hands-off warning

A: Keep hands on steering wheel |
If the driver’s hands are off the steering wheel for several seconds, a message appears on the instrument cluster and audible warnings sound in stages.
WARNING
Steering assistance may not be provided if you grip the steering wheel very firmly or turn it beyond a certain angle.
Lane Keeping Assist may not operate in every situation. The driver is responsible for steering safely and keeping the vehicle within its lane.
Road conditions may delay the hands-off warning. Keep your hands on the steering wheel while driving.
If you wear gloves or hold the steering wheel very lightly, the system may not recognise that your hands are on it, and the hands-off warning may appear.
Objects attached to the steering wheel may interfere with the hands-off warning.
NOTE
You can still steer the vehicle while Lane Keeping Assist is providing steering assistance.
When steering assistance is active, the steering wheel may feel heavier or lighter than it does when the system is not assisting.
When the Kia Sportage detects lane markings, the lane lines on the instrument cluster change from grey to white.

Instrument-cluster images and colours may vary according to the cluster type or the theme selected in Settings.
The lane marker shown on the instrument cluster may not match the actual lane markings.
If Highway Lane Change Assist is selected, the corresponding lane is shown in green on the cluster.
