SPORT

MY DRIVE

  • Use Drive Mode for normal road conditions, including urban streets and highways.

  • All four wheels remain in operation while the vehicle travels at a constant speed. The system automatically adjusts the traction delivered to the front and rear wheels according to road and driving conditions.

  • When the Drive Mode display is selected in the instrument cluster, it shows how traction is distributed among the four wheels.

TERRAIN MODE

SNOW

SNOW mode adjusts traction distribution to help limit wheelspin and maintain stable progress on snow-covered or slippery roads.

MUD

MUD mode adjusts traction distribution to support controlled driving on muddy, unpaved or rough surfaces.

SAND

SAND mode adjusts traction distribution to support driving on sandy, gravel-covered or other unpaved off-road surfaces.

CAUTION

Use Drive Mode on ordinary roads. Using Terrain Mode in normal road conditions may damage the Kia Sportage AWD system and can cause mechanical vibration or noise.

When Terrain Mode is selected, you may notice slight vibration or mechanical noise while driving on ordinary roads, particularly when cornering. This is a normal characteristic, not a malfunction, and should stop when Terrain Mode is switched off. A slight shock may also be felt as Terrain Mode is deactivated while traction is redistributed between the front and rear wheels; this is normal.
