Procedure

  1. Switch the ignition off, or press the ENGINE START/STOP button to select OFF.

  2. Turn the urea solution tank cap counterclockwise to remove it.

  3. Insert the refill hose fully and add enough urea solution that meets ISO 22241 specifications.

Take care not to pour urea solution into the fuel tank. This can adversely affect Kia Sportage performance and cause a range of malfunctions.

Do not use urea solution mixed with additives or water. Such mixtures can introduce contaminants into the tank and cause vehicle malfunctions.

Use only urea solution that meets ISO 22241 specifications. Unapproved products can impair vehicle performance and cause malfunctions.

  4. Turn the tank cap clockwise until it is securely closed.

Refer to Recommended lubricants and capacities for the required specifications.

Urea solution typically needs to be replenished about every 5,600 km. Actual consumption depends on the road profile, driving pattern and environmental conditions.
