Kia Sportage: Crosswind Stability Control (CSC). Electronic Control Suspension (ECS): (if equipped)Crosswind Stability Control (CSC) works with ESC and Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS) to help stabilise the vehicle if a strong crosswind causes it to sway or lose traction.

Strong crosswinds can make the Kia Sportage sway or lose traction, particularly when crossing a bridge or passing a large truck or bus. CSC adjusts the vehicle’s position and steering to help correct its course.
When CSC activates, the ESC indicator
illuminates. A
warning message appears on the instrument cluster and a warning sound is heard.
You may feel a slight vibration through the vehicle or steering wheel while CSC is active. This can result from brake operation and MDPS assistance.
Crosswind Stability Control may not operate, or may stop operating, in any of these situations:
Vehicle speed is below 70 km/h (45 mph) or above 180 km/h (112 mph).
The driver makes a sharp turn while driving.
The brake pedal is pressed beyond a certain level.
The vehicle is travelling over a bumpy road or on a slippery surface, such as one covered with ice, snow or rain.
The ESC OFF indicator illuminates because Electronic Stability Control has been switched off (ESC OFF state 2).
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is active.
A driving assistance system, such as FCA, BCA, LKA or LFA, is switched on.
If ESC has a fault, CSC will not operate.
If the Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS) has a fault, CSC may provide only partial assistance.
If the ESC warning light
or MDPS warning light
remains illuminated or flashes, have the system
inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
WARNING
CSC is a supplementary driver-assistance system. You remain responsible for controlling the Kia Sportage at all times. Keep both hands ready to steer and press the brake pedal to reduce speed when necessary.
Electronic Control Suspension (ECS) automatically adjusts the suspension using information from vehicle sensors. It responds to driving conditions—including speed, road surface, cornering, braking and acceleration—to help maintain ride comfort.

A: Check Electronic Suspension |
If ECS does not operate correctly, the instrument cluster displays a warning message. If this occurs, have the system inspected by an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
