Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist Disabled

Kia Sportage instrument cluster message indicating that Driver Assistance is limited because radar is blocked

A: Driver Assistance system limited. Radar blocked.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist may be temporarily limited or disabled if snow, rain, or another foreign material covers the rear bumper around a rear-side radar or sensor. Installing a trailer, carrier, or similar attachment can also reduce the system’s ability to detect approaching vehicles.

If this happens, a warning message appears in the instrument cluster.

The system should operate normally once the material or attachment that is affecting the sensor area has been removed.

If Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist still does not operate correctly after the obstruction or attachment has been removed, have it inspected by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
