The Kia Sportage is equipped with an in-vehicle device1 that connects to the Pan-European eCall system and can contact emergency response services. Where national regulations support the system, eCall provides an automatic emergency call following a traffic accident or certain other accidents on European roads.

In countries where the system is regulated, eCall connects the vehicle’s occupants with an operator at the designated emergency dispatch service when an accident occurs on the road.

1. As described in the Owner’s Manual, the vehicle contains a Pan-European eCall device that provides the connection to the eCall system.

2. “Other accidents” means accidents on roads in participating European countries that result in injuries or require assistance. If an accident occurs, stop the vehicle and press the SOS button. The system collects information about the Kia Sportage making the call, then connects the vehicle to an operator at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) so you can report the emergency.
